Oh my! I was away for a week or so and it now seems like Pardy house is almost ready to move into upon my return. I think we literally have only about a week or two worth of work on the inside before we can move the furniture in! One nice addition I have noticed to the completed list is the final application of pink on the home’s exterior.
Before Leann and I left for a short holiday there were some details on the home painted pink but the doors had not been started and now that they are well under way. I can rest assured that this shade of pink suits our home to a tee.
The pink storm windows are being installed now so that paired with the two pink doors will really make this third colour pop on this little heritage home.
I did have concerns early on about using too much pale pink on this property --aka painting the cream doors over with pink-- but it worked out fine. The original plan was to have only the windows rain caps and the home's gable end details in pink but once on the home we realized that the shade of pink was very calm and mute and we needed some more of it!
The other major worry surrounding the pink accents on the home was the possible clashing with our red outbuilding which will likely have to wait for another summer for fresh red ocher. But again the shade of pink selected is so pale and almost flesh toned that there is certainly no risk of clashing in my eyes. What do you think?
