Blizzard shuts down schools, businesses

A major storm system has shut down most of Eastern Newfoundland today. All schools in the Vista school district are closed for the day due to the blizzard.

Other businesses and offices are also closed due to the weather.

Environment Canada is predicting as much as 40 cm of snow for the Bonavista area, with periods of snow and high winds expected through to tomorrow for the whole region.
