It's an event that was once a staple of winter in the Trinity Bight area, but then the event began to wane.
The last winter carnival for the entire Trinity Bight was held in 1996. Now, a group of local citizens have come together and, beginning this weekend, are staging a revival.
The event begins Friday night, March 9, with a showing of Revue 2011 at the Rising Tide Theatre in Trinity.
Saturday, will feature a snowmobile run, a snow shoeing expedition to Cat Cove starting at 2 p.m., a Kitchen Party at the Trinity East Recreation Hall at 8 p.m. and a Square Dance and Karaoke at the Good Times Hall in Old Bonaventure, at 7:30 p.m.
There's an event, or two or three, scheduled for each day of the week, in communities throughout the Bight - Old and New Bonaventure, Dunfield, Goose Cove, Trinity, Port Rexton, Champney's East and West.
