The Grand Falls-Windsor Cataracts earned their first win of the 2012 Allan Cup Championships in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Thursday night, winning convincingly 5-1 over the Stony Plain Eagles of Alberta in the quarterfinals.

Chris Peach led the Cataracts with two goals (one into the empty net) while Andrew Brennan, Matthew Thomey and David Philpott were the other goal scorers. Brennan received Player of the Game honors.

Mark Yetman was stellar in goal for the win. 

The Cats will now play the South East Prairie Thunder tonight with the winner earning a berth in the championship game for the national championship on Saturday.

The game tonight begins at 4 p.m. MTN time that is at 7:30 p.m. NL time.
