Police investigating home invasion

Police in Clarenville are currently investigating a home invasion that occurred Saturday night, July 14.

The RCMP were called around 9 p.m. when two men entered a residence in the town and subdued the 59 year old male occupant with an unknown type of defensive spray. Police say they believe the subtance was bear spray.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and released.

The Clarenville RCMP is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the Clarenville RCMP Detachment at 709-466-3211, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
