High winds pounded the Clarenville area today blowing from the southwest at 50 kilometres an hour, gusting to 80. The force was enough to tilt this traffic light at the intersection of Manitoba Drive and Thompson Street on a 45-degree angle. Winds are expected to reduce to 30 km/h gusting to 50 by Saturday.
