A new brewery being proposed for the Town of Port Rexton on the Bonavista Peninsula has gotten the go ahead on their environmental assessment.

They now need to seek the town’s approval for the project, which may require an amendment in the town’s development regulations, according to the decision letter issued by the Department of Environment and Conservation.
The company plans to build a facility capable of producing 300 hectolitres of beer per year, at an existing residential/commercial mix property.
A notice released in November said that there are plans to renovate an existing building in order to accommodate the brewery equipment and production process as well as a retail area and tasting room.
