Provincial government hosting livestock seminar in Bonavista

BONAVISTA – The Department of Fisheries and Land Resources will be hosting a livestock production seminar this Thursday, April 20, in Bonavista, from 8:50 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the College of the North Atlantic.

The Department confirmed to The Packet that seminar presenters will all be provincial government employees within the Department.

The seminar is aimed at both active producers and new entrants, with a main focus on beef, sheep and goat production in the province.

 Information concerning farm business planning, agriculture land acquisition, soil management, pasture management and forage production, multi-species grazing, farm food safety programs, animal health, marketing strategies, meat regulations and licensing, and funding opportunities will be made available.

The seminar was originally scheduled for February 16, but had been postponed until April 20.
