Church Street Festival takes over Bonavista

Published on August 7, 2017

Church Street Fest ran all of last week in Bonavista, with plenty of entertainment, food, art, and activity throughout the event.

On Saturday, in addition to the many art exhibits on display, there was some bubble blowing and Irish dancing for children!

Also, mural artists were hard at work, painting the walls of the old bait depot next to the fish plant.

Liam Penney told The Packet they chose crab and squid themes to fit with the building’s purpose.

At Shannon’s Pub, the building was loud with music and stomping as Shawn Silver taught traditional Irish dancing to children.

The kids tried to master the “one, two, three, hop!” portion of the dance to learn how to complete the routine.

Check out the photos by Jonathan Parsons, and the video below of the dancing!
