SOUTHWEST ARM, N.L. — The Southwest Arm Leo Club and Lions Club are proud of and offer congratulations to Leo president Claire Spurrell on being awarded the International Presidents Leo Leadership medal.

With this being the 100th anniversary of Lionism, the international president decided to present 100 Leos around the world with a medal honoring the event.

Advisors were informed and they could nominate a deserving Leo from their club. There are Leo clubs in 140 countries around the world and more than 100,000 Leos in the world.

The Southwest Arm Lions Club says Leo Claire Spurrell has been an exceptional Leo president and has organized several community projects and fundraising projects with her club. She was nominated by her Leo advisor Azariah Oram.

Despite the long odds of being chosen to receive the medal, a couple of weeks ago Spurrell was informed that she was a recipient.

“Congratulations Leo Claire,” Oram said. “I’m sure you will always treasure this medal and remember your years as a Leo club member and especially the great job you did as Leo president.”
