CLARENVILLE, N.L. — Hundreds gathered at the Eastlink Events Centre tonight in Clarenville to pay their respects to the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team.
“If we can take one thing from this tragedy, let’s take this: that life is precious,” said New Life Community Church assistant pastor Keith Chard, one of the many speakers who addressed the crowd.
“And life is short. Whether you live to be ten, or one hundred, life is too short. Life is actually too short to hold grudges, to not speak to each other, to insult each other, or to be mean to each other. Really the only time we have in life, is to love each other.”
There was a banner that you could sign which was to be mailed to the Humboldt Broncos.
And, before all were dismissed, there was a sombre moment of silence.
