Health minister Ross Wiseman was guest speaker at the Clarenville Rotary Club on Jan. 5.
In a half-hour long speech, the MHA for Trinity North spoke of the progress made in health care in the past year, with mention of the 40 new family physicians for the province and investment in hospital equipment, and long-term care and hospital facilities.
He also acknowledged the most attention this year was centered on the Cameron Inquiry into faulty hormone receptor tests. While Justice Margaret Cameron’s report and recommendations are not due until March, Wiseman says the health department has learned a lot from the process and has made changes to improve that area of medical service.
