Visiting hours restricted at Eastern Health
The Packet
Eastern Health wishes to advise the public that due to the high volume of persons in the community with influenza-like illness, visitor restrictions have been implemented at all acute care centres throughout the region.
Bonavista Peninsula Health Centre and Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital are among 18 facilities that have shut their doors to visitors.
Members of the general public are asked not to visit patients in any of these facilities, except under exceptional circumstances.
Please note that these visitor restrictions do not apply to Eastern Health’s long term care facilities at this time; however the situation will be monitored and updates will be provided.
Patients in hospitals are more vulnerable to colds, influenzas and gastrointestinal illnesses and the public is reminded that it is always best to stay away from hospitals and long-term care homes when you are feeling ill.
