Contestants battled it out, with a number of noteworthy performances in the latest round of the SingNL competition..
From the youth competitors, Julia Bryant and Hailey Peddle advanced.
Peddle is from Hodges Cove and sang the Eagle’s classic “Desperado” with a country edge. Peddle played guitar and her performance was country all the way down to her cowboy boots.
Bryant, 13, performed “I See Fire” by Ed Sheeran, building up momentum as she went for a powerful finish. She is from St. John’s.
Although he didn’t advance, 10-year-old Jesse Lahey’s performance of “A Change Is Gonna Come” was particularly inspiring and soulful.
From the adult category, Will Carter and Kira Skinner advanced.
Carter performed an original piece called “So Addicted.” The St. John’s native performed with his guitar.
Lastly, Kira Skinner, from Clarenville, rounded out the evening’s performances.
Skinner, accompanied by an electric guitarist, brought the house down with her performance of Led Zeppelin’s classic “Whole Lotta Love.” Her energy and dance moves carried her onto the next round.
