The Clarenville RCMP, as a result of two separate traffic stops overnight, have laid charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in marijuana.

In a press release Sunday afternoon RCMP say General Duty investigators from Clarenville Detachment stopped vehicles in Hillview and Georges Brook overnight and a quantity of marijuana and cash were seized.

A 22-year-man from Sunnyside and a 41-year-old man from Clarenville will both face charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking marijuana.

These investigations were not related. Both men have court appearances scheduled next month in Clarenville.
