CLARENVILLE-Emergency crews are on scene at an accident at the Thompson Street-Shoal Harbour intersection.
Traffic is being redirected and motorists should drive with caution.
Meanwhile, small crowds have gathered on Wal-Mart parking lot to take photos and observe the accident up close.
The intersection is scheduled to get a set of streetlights due to the number of accidents at the location.
Clarenville mayor Frazer Russell says that parts for the streetlights were ordered in June, and are expected late September.
“We’re all ready to go, the engineering work is all done, we're just waiting for the material to arrive,” explained Russell.
“We’re at the mercy of the company that provides that to us, and as soon as it arrives in Clarenville it will be erected.”
Russell says that if the materials arrive on time, the new stoplights should be in working order by the end of October.
