CLARENVILLE, N.L. — Mayor Frazer Russell says the director of leisure services position for the Town of Clarenville, formerly held by Todd Cole, will remain vacant for the time being.

Russell told The Packet that council will analyze the position in late October, or November, and make a decision then.

"Until we’ve had a time to analyze that position it will not be filled," explained Russell.

Cole resigned from the director of leisure services position in late August of this year.

"I have nothing but tremendous respect for Mayor Russell and Council and thank them for the opportunity and experience they provided for past 8 years," said Cole in a Facebook post.

Russell adds — for the time being — there has been a "reassignment of duties," and Recreation Manager Brandon Reardon has taken on many of Cole's responsibilities.
