Safety notice for icebreaking in Clarenville area

The Canadian Coast Guard Ship Ann Harvey will be conducting a harbour breakout of Clarenville Harbour Area commencing today, March 7.

The icebreaker will be leaving an open water track in the ice.

Residents of the area who may be wishing to transit this area by snowmobile or all-terrain vehicles are advised to exercise caution.

Ice conditions can vary far away from the location where the icebreaker is working. The public is advised to be aware of the safety risks and act accordingly. i.e. refrain from walking on the ice, remove mobile equipment in advance, and protect non-moveable property.
