Published on December 25, 2015

Traffic on the TCH near Clarenville is being diverted through Deep Bight at this hour as RCMP attend to the scene of an accident earlier this morning that caused injury to a 65-year-old man.  The RCMP at Clarenville say that shortly  before 9 a.m. today an eastbound vehicle had left  the roadway. The 65 year old male driver was able to remove himself from the vehicle.  As emergency responders were attending, another eastbound vehicle lost control as it approached the collision scene and struck the driver of the first involved vehicle. The male has been transported to hospital in Clarenville with injuries.   RCMP Traffic Services and Clarenville Detachment are now on scene to assist with the investigation. Traffic is being safely detoured through Adeytown and Deep Bight as investigators remain on scene.   A further update will be provided, once traffic flow returns to normal.
