The Trans Canada Highway was closed at 11 a.m. this morning, Thursday, Aug. 10, rerouting traffic through North West Brook.

RCMP told The Packet the reason is to remove a tractor trailer that went off the road early this morning.

Cpl. Shawn Skinner of the Clarenville RCMP detachment says the recovery of the tractor trailer is expected to take about four hours.

“It will take a while to get it out of the ditch,” said Skinner.

While the TCH is closed during the removal, traffic will only be slowed due to the detour through the community of North West Brook, he adds.
