Man who allegedly threatened Clarenville school to appear in court again in May

Accused remains in custody

CLARENVILLE, NL — A 45-year old man charged with allegedly uttering a threat in an email against Riverside Elementary in Clarenville will appear in Clarenville Provincial Court again on Thursday, May 10.

The date was tabled yesterday, Tuesday, April 10, during a scheduled bail hearing for the accused, Gordon Wheaton.

That bail hearing did not go ahead.

The accused is expected to undergo a fitness assessment before his May 10 appearance to see if he is fit to stand trial.

Wheaton remains in custody.
