CLARENVILLE, NL- Seven young gymnasts from Clarenville's Velocity gymnastics program will be competing at Campia Gymnastics centre in Mount Pearl this weekend.

Erin Russell, Leah Watkins, Hannah Curran, Lilly Bennett,  MacKenzie Parsons, Jordyn Peddle and Destiny Butt will be competing in four traditional artisic apparatus competitions, including floor exercises, balance beam, uneven bars, and vault.

Head coach Leanne Seguin says the seven girls train for about four hours each week, and that they will be competing in compulsory routines (meaning that each girl will perform the same routine, and must perfrom it exactly as they have learned it.)

The girls will compete again at Cygnus Gymnastics centre in St. John on March 2-3, and then head to provincials in Corner Brook March 23-24.
