Organization releases celebration details

CLARENVILLE, N.L.— Fans who have been waiting to celebrate the Clarenville Caribou’s Herder Memorial Trophy will have to wait just a little longer.

The Caribou’s noted some weeks ago that the community event would take place on Saturday, June 16. On June 4 a full schedule of events for the celebrations was announced.

The celebrations begin at the Eastlink Events Centre at 1 p.m.

There will be a meet and greet with the Caribous and coaching staff, a photo area to have your picture taken with the trophy, prize giveaways, free refreshments courtesy of No Frills and the events centre, as well as a youth ball hockey game against the Caribous (pre-register by contacting Matthew Blackmore at mattthewblackmore@nlesd.ca).

The Caribou’s 2018 Herder win came after a controversial loss during the 2017 Herder finals against the C.B.N. CeeBee’s, in which a puck that slid under the side of the Caribou’s net was allowed.

The Caribous last won the Herder in 2012.
