Group looking for volunteers

4th Clarenville Scouting Group will hold an information event tonight, Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Clarenville Public Library.

It’s a time for parents and kids to ask questions about the program and assist with registration for the coming year.

“We’re always looking for volunteers” said group commissioner Trevor Smith.

There’s a need for volunteers to help run the weekly program, join behind-the-scenes group committees and chaperone special events such as hikes and camping trips.

“Whatever they’re availability is, we’ll be happy to accept them,” said Smith.

Scouting is open to boys and girls between ages five and twenty-six.
