Clarenville hospital 2018 Christmas tree festivities underway

CLARENVILLE, N.L.

It’s Christmas time at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, and that means it’s time for the annual departmental Christmas tree competition.

Staff say it’s a fun way to spread some festive Christmas cheer and put smiles on patients faces, while growing as a team.

As in year’s past, there are some diverse trees on display, including health records pet tree, decorated with photos of family pets, animal decorations, toys, and cans of cat food; obstetrics snowman tree, complete with bulbs marked with the weight of newborns; radiology’s Scrabble tree, and housekeeping’s homey display featuring Santa and some children relaxing by the fire — unfortunately, one of the stockings hung with care on the chimney is filled with coal.

Residents of Dr. Albert O'Mahony Memorial Manor decorate a special tree with ornaments of their own.

Trees will be judged on Tuesday, Dec. 18.
