Clarenville RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a potential witness to a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on the Trans-Canada Highway near Thorburn Lake at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.
According to an RCMP release issued this morning, Sept. 14, witnesses stated that a red pickup truck with a “BackRack” was seen heading eastbound in front of one of the vehicles that was involved in the collision.
A 76-year-old woman died at the scene of Tuesday’s accident.
Two people in the other vehicle were injured and taken to Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital in Clarenville.

The investigation is continuing, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
