Town of Clarenville switches to survey for pre-budget consultations

CLARENVILLE, N.L. —

Taking a new approach for engagement this year, the Town of Clarenville is circulating an online survey in lieu of a pre-budget consultation.
Citing low attendance numbers, council decided to compile a list of questions which can be completed online for residents to peruse.
On the survey it states, “Your tax dollars pay for a range of services that contribute to the quality of life in our town, and our task is to ensure that we all get the very best value from these dollars.”
The survey also referenced the possibility of either finding savings in expenditures, or creating more revenue for the town.
“As costs rise, we have to make some important decisions that involve a combination of raising revenues or decreasing expenses,” it reads on the survey.
You can access the survey by going to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DQ7SRB9, or finding the link at the Town of Clarenville “Official Page” Facebook Home.
