DUNVILLE, N.L.

CANADA

It took two police cars to stop a vehicle that had been speeding in a residential area near Dunville on Sept. 9.

According to a RCMP release, the driver, a 19-year-old woman from Spaniard’s Bay, would not initially pull over for police.

The woman finally relented when a second police car that was in the area provided assistance.

The woman, who was driving with a suspended driver’s licence, was also found to have been drinking, a violation of the zero blood alcohol concentration law for drivers under the age of 22.

Police say there were other passengers in the vehicle, which contained open alcohol and a small quantity of drugs.

The vehicle was impounded for 30 days. Charges to the driver were laid under the Highway Traffic Act and the Liquor Control Act.

A 20-year-old man, who was also in the vehicle, was charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
