The AC/DC concert scheduled for September 16 at Rogers Stadium has officially been cancelled after engineers assessed damage caused by last week’s severe thunderstorm.
The storm brought extreme winds and hail to Toronto, causing significant damage at the outdoor venue, including the partial collapse of sections of the stadium’s bleachers.
Earlier this week, the City of Toronto ordered Live Nation, which operates Rogers Stadium, to retain an engineer and complete the necessary repairs. The city’s remedy order described the venue as being in a “condition that may pose a risk.”

Live Nation confirmed that Rogers Stadium is currently “not capable” of hosting the concert following an engineering assessment conducted in coordination with the City of Toronto.
“Last Wednesday’s storm was an exceptionally severe and significant weather event, and in the days since, engineers have conducted a thorough assessment of the venue in coordination with the City of Toronto. That work has determined that sections of the venue impacted by the storm will need to be removed and rebuilt,” the company said in a statement.
The findings mean repairs will involve more than temporary fixes. Damaged sections will have to be dismantled and reconstructed before the venue can safely reopen to concertgoers.
Fans who purchased tickets for the cancelled AC/DC show will receive refunds automatically through Ticketmaster, according to Live Nation.
